Report: SGS Pride vs. Exeter Demons
Report by Eddie Koszler on 01 February 2026
What started out as a beautifully sunny day turned to a torrential downfall, but that didn’t stop the Filton-based American Football team from dominating in another match against the Exeter Demons.
The first half was packed with lots of touchdowns and rapid changes of possession. It started with Ash Bailey running into the endzone to get the first couple of points for SGS. This was followed up by a safety from Adam Deverill who tackled an Exeter player in the endzone before they could score. He would also get a touchdown of his own, adding to the scoresheet and providing two crucial plays for the Filton side.
However, Exeter wouldn’t go down without a fight, as Luke Roxburgh scored two field kicks to give the team a respectable six points; this finished up the first half of the game, with the scoreline being 14-6 to SGS PRiDE.
Points were flying in during the second half for SGS, with Owayne Montique getting a touchdown after breaking out a long run to get the six points. PRiDE would also gain points for their defensive prowess by players Hawkan Hall and Xavier De Almada shutting down plays from the Exeter Demons.
PRiDE’s Head Coach Ben Herod was much happier with the game this time around: “A really positive team performance coming off a long Christmas break.
“Our defense was outstanding and we got some real pass rush thanks to the adjustments coach Ash has made on that side of the ball. Now we are preparing for our last regular season home game of the year against Cardiff this Friday”.
SGS PRiDE will be back in action against Cardiff Cobras on Friday 7th February for an exciting Night Lights game at 7pm
